TEWKESBURY Athletic Club was again in the thick of the action at Sunday's annual Tewkesbury Half-Marathon.
Eighteen athletes, including five new members and four runners in the Five-Mile Fun Run, were in action and performances were mixed in the hot and sunny conditions.
Clive Baker handled the conditions well to cross the line in an outstanding bronze medal position - just two and half minutes behind the race winner.
Another outstanding achievement was in the making by young debutant Helena Preston.
She has come a long way since starting out with the club as a non-runner and her determination was on full display as she worked her way around in just over two hours and 40 minutes.
Defending V50 champion Carol Cowley is having a purple patch but she had to really work hard to meet her high standards.
Finishing times were all a little slower than expected, however, from the 1,222 that finished, the average time was two hours and three minutes meaning an above average performance from the Tewkesbury contingent.
