MORETON Show will go ahead on Saturday, September 6 but in a cut down form because of the torrential rain.

Horses, cattle, sheep, goats and hound competition classes will continue, as will the Grand Arena programme.

However, there will be few trade stands and limited catering at the venue - Moreton Showground in Batsford Road.

The Attractions and Dog Show have been cancelled, as has the Home and Garden section except for the children’s classes, table-based handicrafts - but not photography and art - and cakes, which will all be held in Redesdale Hall in Moreton High Street.

There will be no flowers or vegetables.

Admission and car parking will be free of charge.

People are advised to wear Wellington boots and waterproofs.

Vehicles carrying horses and livestock may follow unconventional routes, so their drivers are advised to watch for road signs.

Entries for the Home and Garden section will be accepted between 8am and 9.45am.

Judging will start at 10am, Redesdale Hall will open to the public at 2pm and prize giving will be at 3.30pm.

The hall will close at 5pm.
