Police are hunting two robbers who attacked a security guard outside a bank in Tewkesbury High street. Shortly after 6.30pm yesterday, cash was grabbed from a Group 4 security guard after he was assaulted by the two men outside The Halifax Bank.

The offenders, who were wearing black balaclavas, left the scene in a silver Ford Focus heading towards the Bredon Road. The car was found abandoned in Mitton Way a short while later.

A BBC Midlands Today camera crew had been filming in Tewkesbury High Street during the afternoon and got footage of the security van shortly before the incident. Police are hoping that their footage may jog the memory of any potential witnesses. It is not thought that any weapons were used during the robbery.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the robbery to contact them on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 442 of October 6. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
