Tewkesbury Borough Council needs a new chief executive.

Bob Austin was due to take up the post this month but concerns about his health meant that this was no longer possible.

Councillors have agreed that for now the strategic director of operations Chris Shaw will act as head of paid services. He will be helped by strategic director of resources Pete Antill and borough solicitor Sara Freckelton.

Members will discuss a plan for future management arrangements when they meet in full council on October 28.

Bob Austin took over as shared chief executive after his predecessor Teri Turner retired 18 months ago.
